Mumbo a Gumbo!


Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo Recipe from Coastal Living

Notes:
Steeping the shrimp shells in the chicken broth infuses
wonderful flavors in the overall stew.
This dish seemed to be less spicy and more flavorful the second day.
Depending on the sausage and hot sauce used
this dish can be very spicy;
Sriracha Hot Sauce gave this dish a great flavor twist and spiciness.

    Gumbo is one of my favorites. Made a batch last week with smoked chicken instead of the shrimp.

  3. It's the same basic recipe, but i hickory smoke 3 half breasts in my Cameron stovetop smoker. Just put it on the stove and when the smoke starts, smoke for 20 mins then turn the stove off and wait 20 mins more. A good exhaust fan is a requirement not one of those that vents into the room.

    Dani's not a shellfish fan but I'd like to try the shrimp sometime.
